Meet the Team

Jonathan and Tara respectively hail from new england and the mid west. Fate landed each of them in North Carolina, where they combined efforts in 2017 to form CarnesWarwick, a modern law firm for the traditional practice of law in areas of business, intellectual property, and civil litigation. Although Legal Underground was also conceptualized at that time, that division of the practice had to be put on a back burner as the demands presented to traditional law firms mounted. Over time, the practice of law became increasingly dispiriting, and the two have now turned their focus to building out Legal Underground.

Based on their extensive and combined experiences over the previous decade, Jonathan and Tara recognized the painfully unmet need in getting legal and practical business advice to savvy, DIY entrepreneurs and to increasing camaraderie among attorneys in an otherwise stuffy forum. The Legal Underground brand is a result of their determination to address those unmet needs and to have a little fun in the process.
